Regime change a right policy toward Iran

by   Heshmat Alavi  By ending Obama’s era, the policy of appeasement regarding the Iranian regime was changed to a tougher one and even to uttering ‘regime change’ in Iran. How realistic and true this policy could be, is the theme of the piece by Heshmat Alavi, a political activist who focuses on Iran and the Middle East.Following the recertification of Iran’s compliance with a nuclear deal aimed at curbing its controversial nuclear program, there is quite a stir over the Trump administration possibly adopting a regime change policy in the face of Tehran’s belligerence. There are those who favor such a trajectory, while Iran lobbyists and apologists have promptly argued otherwise, saying  war should not be an option  and citing ongoing campaigns in countries across the region to back their opinions. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson’s strong position of supporting regime change in a hearing of the House Foreign Affairs Committee sent shock waves in ...

MEK the main threat for Iran's ruling mullahs.

How Iran Fears MEK as Its Opposition Pooya Stone The regime in Iran has come under immense domestic and international pressure recently. Most vivid are the sweeping sanctions imposed by US Congress and signed into law by President Donald Trump. These developments are sparking an endless stream of reactions from Iran’s senior officials and various media outlets. Over 500 interviews, reports, posts, sessions, book introductions and others events have been discussed in this regime’s official outlets, all regarding the opposition People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK). The reason behind this chorus of remarks and attacks aimed at the MEK is obvious. It is crystal clear for Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and his entire regime apparatus how the MEK represents the source of all their strategic defeats. Iran’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) has recently been classified as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist entity. This is mainly due to the hundreds of revelat...

A CALL FOR JUSTICE FOR 30000'S MEK VICTIMS

Image
By Arash Nikzad on the memorial of thirty thousands of rose flowers Thousands of political prisoners who were extra judicially executed in the summer of 1988 are buried in unmarked mass graves including Khavaran, a deserted gravesite in south Tehran. Most of those executed had already spent years in prison for the peaceful political activities including distributing newspapers and leaflets, taking part in peaceful anti-government demonstrations, and having real or perceived affiliations with various political opposition groups. Some had already completed their sentences but had not been released because they refused to make statements of “repentance”. Almost after three decades, nobody knows exactly how many prisoners were executed and precisely where the victims were buried in secret. Up to now, no Iranian officials have been investigated and brought to before court. The massacre of 1988 remains to be one of the darkest stains on the modern history of Iran. Some human righ...

Iran the day of justice for MEK victims is coming soon

Image
By Arash Nikzad  In response to “the justice seeking Movement for victims of 1988 massacre” and along with the three-day Iranian Resistance Satellite TV ‘Simay Azadi's’ event on the anniversary of the Massacre, state run Basij News writes," The People's Mojahedin of Iran (MEK/PMOI) has organized the maximum propagandas and military activities against the Islamic Republic of Iran." Basij News added," The unresolved issue is that how some of the political circles support the MEK’s measures in the current situation and they question the events of the 80s while trying to call the hangman as a martyr." Basij News also refers to MEK’s disclosures concerning the bomb constructions in Iran, writing, "Disclosing regime's nuclear activities was the pretext for imposing the most extensive sanctions against the Iran regime." The Head of Regime's Research Center also referred to the advancement of the Justice Seeking Movement, stating, "So...

IRAN OUT OF SYRIA NOW!

Image
By Arash Nikzad The complexity of the civil war in Syria is underscored by the Iran’s direct military intervention and Its Lebanon partner. Because the Bashar Alassad army has no motivation to kill its own people to survive a dictator in power and save him from toppling by Syria people. Iran's military presence and its increasing influence in Syria is very dangerous for peace and stability in the whole region and It has its cultural and religious dimension, which adds to the complexity of civil war in Syria. So the world has to focus on defeating Iran revolutionary guard meddling in Syria and must focus on evacuating its forces from Syria.

Evacuate Iran's revolutionary guard from the region

By Arash Nikzad Over almost the past four decades, Iran has managed to establish an “arc of influence” that stretches from Tehran to  Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon to the Mediterranean sea in the west and Bahrain on the Gulf, to Yemen on the Red Sea. Iran is posing a comprehensive challenge to the security and stability of Arab worlds in the Middle East.  On my point of view “Keeping Iran inside its borders and reducing its influence in the Middle East is no less important than defeating Islamic State in Iraq and Syria. “Driving Iran out of the region, firstly, requires driving IRGC forces and its paramilitary allies out of the Arab world and it is a  huge challenge, perhaps the most important challenge which is  Arab leaders currently facing. Iran’s destabilizing role and bloody intervene in Syria and Yemen are the most dangerous factors currently threatening the Arab countries.  Iran defense minister recently said: Iran, attempts at improving the accura...

IRGC response to new US sanctions?

Image
By Arash Nikzad "The level of fear and insecurity which Tehran feels from new sanctions has increased. So, political leader ship and decision-makers in Tehran pushed for a greater effort to show off their missile capabilities, as a preventative policy in confronting the world."  Less than one week after new sanction Iranian Defense Minister  IRGC Brigard General Hossein Dhegihan announced Iran had made a "great achievement" by beginning production of new rockets that can reach an altitude of almost 27 kilometers and 120 kilometers range. In fact, Tehran's announcement about the Sayyed-3 production was the reaction and a message from  IRGC  to the entire world that additional sanctions from major powers would be met by the Iranian administration with increased investment in Iran’s missile industries. Military experts think Iran's new missile is akin to the SAM S-200, a surface-to-air missile designed to destroy aircraft or other missiles.  They kne...
